About Guanosine
Guanosine is a nucleoside and consists of the nucleic base guanine and the sugar β-D-ribose.

Preparation and extraction
As a component of ribonucleic acids, it can be obtained from them, for example, in yeasts.

Properties
Guanosine is a component of ribonucleic acid (RNA), where it forms a base pair with cytidine. The analogue with deoxyribose is deoxyguanosine.
Guanosine is a component of the compounds GTP, GDP, of nucleic acids (RNA, DNA - here the sugar ribose is replaced by deoxyribose) and also a signal molecule.
The compound is present as a dihydrate, which gives off the water of crystallization at 110 °C and above.
