ECOSURF SA-9 is an environmentally friendly option that adheres to the principles of Green Chemistry. ECOSURF SA-9 is a biodegradable surfactant derived from seed oil that follows the "Design for Degradation" principle of Green Chemistry. The surfactant is composed of 55-80% C6-C12 and 15-40% C10-C16 ethoxylated, propoxylated alcohols and is available in 100 or 500 mL poly bottles.ECOSURF SA-9 has numerous advantages including superior wetting, excellent detergency, fast dissolving, good rinsability, low odor and no gel range. It has excellent formulation and handling properties and is rapidly biodegradable according to OECD 301 standards.
The surfactant is a non-ionic alkylpolyglucoside based alternative to Triton X-100, a commonly used non-ionic surfactant in laboratory and industrial settings that is being phased out due to concerns about its toxicity and environmental impact.
ECOSURF SA-9 is a more sustainable alternative to Triton X-100 because it is biodegradable, non-toxic and non-bioaccumulative. It has similar surfactant properties to Triton X-100, making it a practical replacement for various applications, including protein purification and analysis, cell lysis, and nucleic acid extraction.
Because ECOSURF SA-9 is non-ionic, it will not react with charged molecules such as proteins or nucleic acids, making it ideal for applications where these molecules must remain intact. In addition, it is stable over a wide pH range, making it suitable for a variety of applications.
